Why is everyone coming? Because the Asian Animation Summit is the best place to discover new animation projects and companies from the region. Roughly 50% of the projects that debuted at AAS have gone into production, including such well-known series as Bluey (2016), Balloon Barnyard (2014), Kuu Kuu Harajuku (2013), Bottersnikes & Gumbles (2012) and Wonderballs (2012).

You should be there, too! Sign up now and get ready to spend three days attending presentations of brand-new children’s TV series concepts from South Korea, Indonesia, Australia, Malaysia and Thailand. And with plenty of time built into the schedule for meetings and casual networking, it couldn’t be easier to follow up immediately on projects of interest and connect with new potential partners. REGISTER TODAY!
  • AAS 2016 “Best in Show” winner Bluey gets second-season greenlight

Brisbane, Australia-based Ludo Studio’s preschool hit Bluey—which made its market debut and was named “Best in Show” at AAS 2016—has been greenlit for a second 52 x seven-minute season by ABC Children’s and BBC Studios. Production will start in May 2019, for a 2020 launch in Australia on ABS KIDS and ABC KIDS iview.

“The second season of Bluey will allow Ludo to continue to grow its animation studio, create 40 jobs in Queensland and inject close to AUS$6 million into the local economy,” says Queensland Premiere Annastacia Palaszczuk.

Leading the charge on Bluey’s second season is showrunner/creator Joe Brumm (Charlie and Lola); exec producers Charlie Aspinwall and Daley Pearson (Ludo), Libbie Doherty (ABC Children’s) and Henrietta Hurford-Jones (BBC Studios); producer Sam Moor (CBeebies); and supervising director Richard Jeffrey (Tinga Tinga Tales).
